I have a crew!
After weeks of things being fairly tense and work getting out of hand when it needn't have done so, I'm finally back on track. Filming is set for Saturday 12th and I have all the crew I need, only thing left to do is film it and get it sorted ready for my show reel.
My only concern though is that, due to the topic of the documentary, I've had to cast myself as the presenter despite also being he director. By this point it's not practical to source someone else, but given the chance to I would probably have gone back and searched for another person who's also knows enough about the topic and is willing to act the presenter. It's going to present a challenge certainly, but I'm not sure how else to go about it.
Fingers crossed it all goes swimmingly.

So last week I started my job. It's a part time thing to give me a bit of money so I can run the car and do things when I want to; that in mind though, I've really been regretting it. The problem is that while the job is well paid enough and shouldn't interfere too much with my college work, the commuting time and time spent out doing the job really makes me question my sustainability of it.
The job is home fundraising; going door to door on behalf of a charity to gather sign ups for donations. My problem though is that, due to the nature of the work, it's spending 5+ hours knocking doors somewhere which takes roughly an hour or more to drive to, and with myself being one of the few people with access to a car I'm also giving people lifts back to Aberdeen after we finish work at 9pm.
This post is mainly just a small vent for my conflicted stance on the whole thing, but once I've found a point I can stop at, I'll likely pack it in to re-focus on my studies and the production.
Part time jobs are great, but not at the expense of the reason for them being part time in the first place.

Hello, my name's Alec
So I'm retro-actively creating this production log for my 2012 factual programme "Introduction to Warhammer 40k". It's been a while coming but I'm finally catching up with it; I've been putting it off because I'm terrible at keeping logs or diaries consistently as I'd much rather spend my time on more entertaining pursuits, but I digress.
So, to date I've completed all of the following documents for my production:
Treatment, Running Order, Draft Budget, Draft Script, Equipment List, Props List, Location Reccis, Risk Assessments, Location Clearance Forms, and Shot Lists.
Some other documents that are still under development for one reason or another:
Production Schedule (Gantt chart. Hate the bloody things), Summary of Copyrighted Materials proposed for the production (Can't decide on the music choice), Lighting Plots/Floor Plans, Shooting Schedules (because I'm still gathering a crew/cast), Minutes of Meetings (need a crew first), Participant/Crew Lists and clearance forms.
As you can see, I'm not to bad off for being ready to film but without the ever crucial presence of a film crew it's gonna be tricky. I'll be asking around my college class today for volunteers.
