So last week I started my job. It's a part time thing to give me a bit of money so I can run the car and do things when I want to; that in mind though, I've really been regretting it. The problem is that while the job is well paid enough and shouldn't interfere too much with my college work, the commuting time and time spent out doing the job really makes me question my sustainability of it.
The job is home fundraising; going door to door on behalf of a charity to gather sign ups for donations. My problem though is that, due to the nature of the work, it's spending 5+ hours knocking doors somewhere which takes roughly an hour or more to drive to, and with myself being one of the few people with access to a car I'm also giving people lifts back to Aberdeen after we finish work at 9pm.
This post is mainly just a small vent for my conflicted stance on the whole thing, but once I've found a point I can stop at, I'll likely pack it in to re-focus on my studies and the production.
Part time jobs are great, but not at the expense of the reason for them being part time in the first place.
